Our students will have the opportunity to specialize in one of the areas within Traditional Turkish Arts, namely Ceramics, Illumination, Calligraphy, and Traditional Textiles. Additionally, they will support their main courses with elective subjects such as Ceramics Restoration, Miniature Painting, Sustainable Design, and Cultural Heritage from various fields. The aim is for them to graduate as knowledgeable and practitioners in all aspects of Traditional Turkish Arts, while focusing on their chosen specialization within Ceramics, Illumination, Calligraphy, and Traditional Textiles.
In addition to enhancing students' design, shaping, and visual perception skills, a focus is also placed on their cultural development through courses such as History of Traditional Turkish Arts, Turkish Islamic Arts and History, Mythology, and Career Planning.
Our Department admits students through a Special Talent Exam. Located in the Terzioğlu Campus, the Faculty of Fine Arts shares the same building with the Faculty of Architecture and Communication. Within the campus facilities, the Faculty has access to a dedicated conference hall and a cafeteria.
Mission:
Through four years of practical and theoretical courses, our mission is to educate students who possess a deep understanding of Turkish Art, Turkish history, culture, and the tangible assets of culture. These students will have the ability to transfer these elements to contemporary culture through mediums such as paper, ceramics, and fiber production. They will be capable of establishing themselves in the national and international fields of art and design, promoting Turkish culture and art to the world. Our aim is to train individuals who can engage in conservation and restoration efforts, preserving and transmitting ancient heritage while also adapting and modernizing it. By nurturing artists and designers, we strive to contribute scientifically and artistically to Turkish Art.
Vision:
Our vision is to define, promote, develop, and sustain Turkish culture and traditional arts, all while aligning with contemporary aesthetic preferences. We aim to acquire the knowledge and skills to transform raw materials into usable products and to preserve and restore the products of traditional culture. With a commitment to generating scientific knowledge, our ultimate goal is to become the foremost department in the country.
